Rita Canaipa has a doctorate in Biomedical Sciences, specializing in Neurosciences, and a master's degree in Human Development from the University of Lisbon, where she also obtained a degree in Psychology.
She is recognized by the Order of Portuguese Psychologists in the advanced specialty of Neuropsychology and Psychotherapy and works as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
With clinical experience in Fibromyalgia, her research in pain neuroscience explores the interactions between pain, cognition, emotions and interoception, aiming to apply this knowledge in clinical practice and in the training of health professionals.
Her aim is to promote a personalized approach that contributes to improving the quality of life and reducing the pain and suffering of people with chronic pain.
