NICE_Lab is pleased to present another session of NICE_Talks, which will take place on May 9 at 2:30 p.m. in person at the Lisbon Campus (Rom 322), with the possibility of participating online.

Speaker: Professor and Researcher Marek Placiński
(Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland)
Marek Placiński is a researcher from the Center for Language Evolution Studies at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. He obtained his PhD in linguistics in 2021. Marek specialises in experimental linguistics, especially in using motion capture technology to study movement properties in silent gesture experiments. He has developed a scheme for conducting experiments with motion capture and kinematic operationalisations of communicative effort. Marek is currently working on several projects, including one that tests the linguistic niche hypothesis.
