The PhD Tank is a dynamic session designed to support aspiring doctoral candidates in refining their research ideas in the fields of Neuroscience, Language and Cognition. Inspired by the format of concise scientific pitching, participants will have the opportunity to present their project idea in a 5-minute presentation, followed by 5 minutes of constructive feedback from a panel of experts. A total of 6 presentations will be selected for this session.

Who is it for? 
Students or professionals interested in Neuroscience, Language and Cognition, who:

  • Have a scientific project in mind 
  • Want to enroll into PhD 
  • Looking for constructive feedback to prepare their application

How to apply?
Submit 250 words addressing: 

  • aim / research question 
  • population
  • social relevance of the project 
  • personal motivation

The evaluation criteria

Submissions will be blind-reviewed by professors from the University’s doctoral program exclusively based on:

  • Contribution to the fields of Neuroscience, Language and Cognition;
  • Relevance and originality of the topic addressed;
  • Potential impact of research on practice, theory or future research.

Closing date for submissions: August 18, 2026
Notification of acceptance: September 20, 2026
Confirmation of acceptance by authors: until September 25, 2026
Announcement of the final program: September 30, 2026
