Professor Sílvia Caldeira, PhD, a faculty member at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing and the School of Nursing (Lisbon), took part in the celebrations for Machico Municipality Day, on May 8, during which she received a Vote of Congratulation for the outstanding work she has been carrying out in the field of nursing, recognized both nationally and internationally.

In her hometown, the impact of her academic and scientific career was highlighted, the prestige of which also contributes to promoting and honoring the name of Machico beyond its borders.

Also in February 2026, Prof. Sílvia Caldeira had already been honored with a resolution of congratulations from the Regional Legislative Assembly of Madeira, in recognition of her contribution and influence in the field of nursing.
