On September 23, 2026, PalliFest 2026 will take place, an initiative organized by the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa dedicated to positively celebrating the work carried out in the field of palliative care.
This event will bring together healthcare professionals, patients, families, volunteers, therapists, researchers, and social partners, promoting the sharing of experiences, projects, and initiatives that value care, dignity, and hope.
Throughout the day, the PalliFest Market will be open, a space dedicated to showcasing projects, institutions, and initiatives related to palliative care.
In the morning, two workshops will take place:
- Memories and Legacy in the Age of Artificial Intelligence, led by Renato Pombinho and Rita Barroso;
- Comic Book and Palliative Care Workshop, led by Luísa Pereira, Sílvia Sereno, and Filipe Duarte.
In the afternoon, the program will feature a series of lectures led by national and international experts:
- Naheed Dosani – Palliative Care in Vulnerable Populations;
- Paulo Carvalho – Vocational Sign Language in Palliative Care;
- Julia Downing – Pediatric Palliative Care: Global Challenges;
- Ana Lacerda – What Have I Learned from Pediatric Palliative Care?
