Line of Research: Numerical Cognition and Aging
Title: Cognitive correlates of numerical abilities in aging.
Jakub Słupczewski (PhD student) - Doctoral School of Social Sciences, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń
Studies have shown age-related differences in numerical cognition differences in the cognitive strategies employed during the performance of numerosity tasks. One probable cause of these differences is the level of cognitive functioning related to the aging process. The aim of conducted studies was to determine the relationships among numerosity abilities, cognitive strategies and the cognitive functioning in older people. During the presentation, preliminary results from ongoing research will be presented and discussed.
