On October 24 and 25, the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing of the Portuguese Catholic University hosted the first edition of NICE START, an innovative international event promoted by young researchers from NICE_Lab. The initiative featured 15 scientific presentations (6 oral presentations and 7 posters), 3 guest speakers, and the participation of around 80 students, bringing together early-career researchers in the fields of Cognitive Sciences, Language, and Neuroscience.

Organized by doctoral students from the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing, NICE START's main objective was to foster interdisciplinarity and promote dialogue between different scientific perspectives, creating a dynamic space for the exchange of ideas and the sharing of original work—with a special focus on doctoral students.

More than just an academic meeting, the event sought to be a catalyst for new collaborations and scientific networks, stimulating the construction of a more connected, innovative, and collaborative research community.

Over the two days, participants had the opportunity to present their research, explore new methodological approaches, and reflect on the future of neuroscience and cognitive science in an environment marked by sharing, cooperation, and scientific enthusiasm.

NICE START thus establishes itself as an essential platform for the academic and professional growth of young researchers, reinforcing the Universidade Católica Portuguesa commitment to promoting interdisciplinary research and excellence.
