Brain Awareness Week, known internationally as BAW - Brain Awareness Week, has been promoted by the Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives - The Dana Foundation, since 1996, with the aim of making the general public aware of the progress and benefits of brain research. #BrainAwarenessWeek

This year, 2025, is being celebrated from March 10 to 16 and the NICE Lab - Neuroscience for Innovation, Communication, and Education, part of CIIS and the FCSE of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, like its partner organizations around the world, is once again taking part with a series of initiatives on and off the UCP campus.

March 12 I 14.00 I The brain in debate at school with the students of Agrupamento de Escolas de Sudoeste de Odivelas.  Researchers from the NICE Lab are going to the António Gedeão Primary School of the Agrupamento de Escolas a Sudoeste de Odivelas to hold sessions with 5th, 8th and 9th grade students to discuss how an anxious and sleepy brain doesn't learn.

The launch will take place in the atrium of the Pavilion of Knowledge - Ciência Viva Center. The book will be presented by Dr. Álvaro Laborinho Lúcio, author of the book's preface.
