A researcher in LIBRAS Lexicon and Terminology and professor at the Federal University of Amapá (UNIFAP) visited NICE_Lab (CIIS-UCP) as part of a study to develop Women's Health Terminology in LIBRAS.
In a meeting to share scientific knowledge, researcher Josy Vitoria and the researchers and collaborators at NICE_Lab established strategies for action to develop specialized health terminology with the aim of expanding the terminology currently being developed for Portuguese Sign Language (LGP) and LIBRAS.
Currently, two funded research projects are underway at NICE_Lab to develop health terminology in LGP:
- Vocational Sign Language on Medicine Project (2023-I-TR-KA220-VET-000160699) - Coordinated by Professor Paulo Vaz de Carvalho.
- Vocational Sign Language on Palliative Care Project (2025-1-PT01-KA220-VET-000352321) - Coordinated by Prof. Paulo Vaz de Carvalho and Prof. Manuel Capelas.
