Monday, February 9, 2026 - 16:47

The Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing (FCSE) of the Portuguese Catholic University is part of the international consortium of the European project PAL-CYCLES – Palliative Care Yields Cancer Wellbeing Support, funded by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe program.

FCSE's participation in this consortium involves teachers and researchers who contribute to different components of the project, namely the analysis of ethical, sociocultural, and public policy dimensions in the context of palliative care, as well as applied research for the development and evaluation of a transitional care model.

The project brings together partners from seven European countries and will run until August 2027, with a multidisciplinary team comprising universities, clinical institutions, and palliative care associations.

PAL-CYCLES is expected to contribute to improving the quality of life of people with advanced cancer, reducing avoidable hospital admissions, and promoting compassionate communication practices that support both patients and their caregivers and families.
