The new Ph.D. program is developed in collaboration between the Institute of Bioethics, Católica Medical School, and the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing, strengthening the integration between different fields of knowledge and the Portuguese Catholic University’s commitment to advanced education and interdisciplinary scientific research.

With a duration of three years, corresponding to 180 ECTS credits, the program integrates fields such as Life and Health Sciences, the Humanities, Law, and emerging technologies, promoting critical thinking and ethical reflection on contemporary scientific and technological transformations.

Applications for the Ph.D. in Bioethics are open until February 5, 2027, with 15 spots available. The program is scheduled to begin on March 15, 2027, at the Católica Medical School on the Sintra Campus.
