The Portuguese Observatory on Palliative Care (OPCP), part of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing at the Portuguese Catholic University, has established a Collaboration Protocol with the Atlantes Global Observatory of Palliative Care (a WHO Collaborating Center) at the Instituto Cultura y Sociedad (ICS) of the University of Navarra.

The collaboration aims to provide a framework for the joint work of the two institutions in the field of palliative care and its development, promoting the production, processing, and dissemination of accurate, up-to-date, and accessible information on the state of palliative care.

Among the main areas of collaboration planned are training, research, quality, evaluation and monitoring of resources, resource sharing, and the production and dissemination of information; other initiatives of mutual interest in the field of palliative care may also be developed.

The agreement also provides for the implementation of projects and partnerships, collaborative meetings, conferences and seminars, palliative care education initiatives, consulting and technical recommendations, knowledge exchange, and technical visits by specialists, as well as the creation of collaborative networks.
