On September 25, 2025, the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa held the Opening Session of the Doctorate in Nursing, which took place in the Brazil Room, in the João Paulo II Library Building (1st floor), in Lisbon, with transmission to the Regional Center of Porto.

The session included institutional speeches, a moment of socializing, and then the Opening Lecture, given by Peggy L. Chinn, Professor Emerita of Nursing at the University of Connecticut, entitled “Knowing and Empowering: Nursing's Place in the Academy.”

The Faculty enthusiastically welcomed the 31 new doctoral students, marking the beginning of another year of research and advanced training in Nursing.
