Professor Zaida Charepe, lecturer at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing and the School of Nursing (Lisbon) at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa is co-author of a chapter entitled “Promoting ecological hope as an antidote for eco-emotions and earth-related mental syndromes” in the international eBook The Psychology of Hope, recently published by Frontiers.
The chapter co-authored by Prof. Zaida Charepe reinforces the importance of hope as a central element for resilience, motivation, and psychological well-being. The work also highlights the clinical, educational, and social applications of this concept at a time when the world faces complex challenges that require more robust emotional skills.
This publication is of great academic and scientific relevance, not only because of the depth of the subject, but also because of the innovative contribution it offers to the study of hope as an essential psychological construct. The results presented in the chapter are the result of the professor's participation, as a researcher at CIIS-UCP, in the international Hope Barometer study.
