Motivation and Memory

  • Understand the fundamentals of motivation and memory, including types of memory
     
  • Discuss how motivation and memory systems interact, especially in the contexts of emotional memory and decision-making
     
  • Discuss the function of central structures involved in motivation and memory
     
  •  Understand the neuronal circuits underlying these structures, e.g., Papez circuit, mesolimbic pathway, and basal ganglia circuit
     
  • Understand the relationship between the dopaminergic system and learning and motivation circuits
     
  • Analyze the impact of cognitive and emotional changes, along with their neuroanatomical and functional correlates, in pathologies and lesions
     
  • Identify clinical and experimental methods used to study motivation and memory circuits - Identify relevant therapeutic models
