This UC aims to:

• The acquisition of knowledge about the cellular structure, its constituents, and interactions among them.
   
• The understanding of the structure and function of the cell is essential for grasping biological phenomena.
   
• The acquisition of knowledge on the cell cycle and the main forms of cell division further allows addressing notions of heredity, and cell differentiation, genetic variability, and diversity.
   
• The analysis of the proposed themes, starting from examples, articles, and research works.
   
• Encourage students' pursuit of knowledge and the sharing of studied scientific information.

• Students will be able to identify the central role of the cell in all living systems, and what is the role of genetic information and the transmission of characteristics.
   
• It is also expected that they will have developed a critical spirit in approaching scientific topics and in the search and consolidation of knowledge.
