On November 17, 2025, Prof. Zaida Charepe, professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing and the School of Nursing (Lisbon) of the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP), participated as a guest speaker in the webinar promoted by the Neonatology Service of Fernando da Fonseca Hospital, as part of the World Prematurity Day celebrations.
With the theme of her lecture being “Hope, With History,” Prof. Zaida Charepe offered a profound reflection on the role of hope in the lives of families and health professionals who care for premature babies. Her presentation highlighted that every story of prematurity is marked by challenges, but also by achievements that become symbols of resilience and inspiration.
The event reinforced the international motto “Ensure healthy beginnings for premature babies for bright futures,” emphasizing that investment in quality neonatal care, family support, and public awareness is essential to transform initial frailties into opportunities for growth and full development.
