The PhD in Cognition and Language Sciences has a strong connection with the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Health (Centro de Investigação Interdisciplinar em Saúde (CIIS)). In this center, the Translational Neuroscience Platform, led by Professor Alexandre Castro Caldas, houses three distinct research laboratories:

• Lang_Lab directed by Professor Ana Mineiro
• Brain and Behaviour Research Lab (BBR) directed by Professor Alexandre Castro Caldas
• Brain-Machine Interface Research Lab (BMIsLab) directed by Professor Carla Pais-Vieira

Students will participate in the research activities of the laboratories and may carry out the activities of their theses’ research themes in the context of the research done in these laboratories, although they may also independently develop research not hosted by the laboratories.
