This course aims to present and discuss knowledge about social, affective, and motivated behavior.
The objectives for the students are to:
- Understand and explain the fundamentals of social and affective cognition, including a historical framework and the key concepts associated with the social brain.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the methods and paradigms used in Social and Affective Neurosciences.
- Evaluate and apply study paradigms to investigate emotional, affective, motivational, and social processes.
- Analyze and interpret data from studies in Social and Affective Neurosciences, considering related ethical aspects.
- Develop a critical and reflective approach on how social and affective processes influence and are influenced by the brain and behavior.
- Integrate theoretical and empirical knowledge to assess the impact of social emotions and social cognition on individual and collective behavior.
