1) To understand the importance of information in organizations and consequently of databases in the context of Information Systems in organizations;

2) To develop data models that support the information requirements of a system;

3) To implement data models in order to develop databases, using a Database Management System;

4) To use the SQL language to manipulate data and data structures; to implement rules and restrictions in the database; and to program procedures and functions;

5) To learn about other data models and their respective databases (NoSQL and Graph-based), as well as their relevance to Information and Knowledge Systems in Organizations.

6) To learn how to design decision support systems provided with data mining techniques
