Forensic Neurosciences 

6 ECTS / Semester / Inglês
The aim is to provide students with the knowledge on the theoretical principles and bases of Clinical Neurosciences and Neuropsychology, particularly in its application to the justice system.

LO1: Acquisition of knowledge about the structure and function of the nervous system and the primary methods for its study in forensic
psychology.

LO2: Explain the relevance of the study of the nervous system's structure and function for the
understanding of delinquent behavior.

LO3: Describe and differentiate ways of applying knowledge derived from cognitive, affective, and social neuroscience, to the forensic
context.

LO4: Recognize and describe the main methods of neuropsychological evaluation used in forensic assessment.

LO5: Recognize typical features in forensic neuropsychology.

LO6: Describe the neurobiology of violent criminal behavior.

LO7: Apply and integrate theoretical knowledge related to the application of neuropsychology in a forensic context.
