6 ECTS / Semestral / Inglês

This UC aims to integrate principles of evolutionary biology with data from ethology and evolutionary psychology to understand behavioural and psychological adaptations, and their importance for survival and successful reproduction.

Theoretical, expository classes will be combined with theoretical-practical classes where scientific articles will be analyzed with practical examples of the syllabus, and exercises will be carried out to observe, record and quantify behaviours, as well as data analysis, presentation and discussion of results .

At the end of the semester, students should be familiar with the syllabus, reading literature, and the scientific method applied to the study of animal behaviour and evolutionary psychology.
