Prof. Zaida Charepe, PhD, a faculty member at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing and the School of Nursing (Lisbon) at UCP, is part of the editorial team for a special issue of the international scientific journal *Children*, an indexed publication with a global readership dedicated to research in the field of child health.
 
Prof. Zaida Charepe’s participation as a guest editor for this special issue—Mental Health and Well-Being of Children with Gender Variability—reflects the international recognition of her academic and scientific career, particularly in the area of nursing care for children and youth in vulnerable situations, a topic that is the focus of this special issue.
