The participation of FCSE-UCP faculty members, Prof. Joana Rato, Ph.D., from the field of neuropsychology, and Prof. Lurdes Martins, Ph.D., from the field of nursing, at the 2026 Madeira–Porto Santo Nursing Congress, organized by the Portuguese Nurses’ Association, highlighted the potential of interdisciplinary collaboration in developing more integrated responses to the challenges of contemporary society.
While Joana Rato presented the lecture “How We Learn: Neuromyths,” as part of the session dedicated to learning in the digital age, Lurdes Martins participated, as a member of a statutory body of the Order of Nurses, in the institutional visit to the future Central and University Hospital of Madeira.
These engagements reflect the diversity of UCP’s contributions to the promotion of knowledge, bringing together the fields of education, neuroscience, and health in contexts of reflection and professional development.
